# Stripe setup

> Setting Up Stripe and Accessing Test API Keys

## 1. Create a Stripe Account

Go to [stripe.com](https://stripe.com) and sign up for an account.

## 2. Access the Dashboard

After signing in, you'll be in the Stripe Dashboard.

## 3. Switch to Test Mode

Look for the toggle switch in the top-right corner of the Dashboard. Make sure it's set to "Test mode".

## 4. Find Your API Keys

1. In the Dashboard sidebar, click on "Developers"
2. Select "API keys"

You'll see two types of keys:

* Publishable key: Starts with `pk_test_`
* Secret key: Starts with `sk_test_`

## 5. Using the Keys

Copy the keys into the `.env` file for `STRIPE_PUBLIC_KEY`, `STRIPE_SECRET_KEY`
